VIDEO NAME: THE ULTIMATE SELTZER TASTE TEST

VIDEO TYPE: PRODUCT REVIEW

This video will feature 30 different seltzer soda brands in an ultimate showdown for taste and overall flavor. Your goal is to create an eye-catching thumbnail that can grab viewers but also communicate the video’s main premise. You can choose to use the supplied graphic or use your own.

I created three options for this project. For the first option, I used a bright yellow banner at the top and mimicked the color for the word ‘ SELTZER’ to allow it to stand out. I also added a drop shadow to create depth and interest to the words. By layering ‘SELTZER’ and ‘TASTE TEST’ in separate layers, I could control the spacing and use the drop shadow effect to create interesting shadowing for the word ‘TASTE.’ 

With the second option, I went a little simpler, only making the word ‘SELTZER’ stand out by making the word teal and adding a bevel and glow effect.

For the third option, I decided to do something completely different, using a seafoam color fill and the Screen blend blending mode with a photo of splashing water to create a dynamic background. I then used a darker green and drop shadow for the word ‘SELTZER’ and a green stroke for the other words in the title.

For each option, I tweaked the coloring of the cans to allow them to stand out a little as they represent each of the 30 brands of seltzer tested. I also used different sprays of water to add some dimension to the image.
